For those of you unfamilar with the yolk sac, it is the first element seen during pregnancy and is a critical landmark, identifying a true gestational sac. Later in pregnancy, it shrinks and its job is taken over by the placenta. (This is why, it is really only seen by us IVF girls who get very early ultrasounds!)

Yay!!! Your baby is BEAUTIFUL! I am so happy for you. Isn't it emotional seeing your little one and hearing the heartbeat for the first time? I'm continuing to pray for your precious baby, you, and your DH. Can't wait to see your next update:)
